Salon for the Holidays: "Salon" will be singing Christmas

South Loopers had a preview Wednesday night of a holiday concert that's going to be a cut above your average program of one Christmas carol after another this time of year. Before the Prairie District Neighborhood Alliance got underway at Second Presbyterian Church at Michigan and Cullerton for their community meeting on proposed construction in the southern end of the neighborhood, members of the vocal quartet, "Salon," entertained a bit--showcasing what will be coming this Saturday night in the same locale.

The show begins at 7:30 PM on Saturday and tickets are $20, $18 online--and there are discounts for seniors, families and students. Call 312 429-0211 for more information. Or visit salonvocal.com

I heard from someone who saw the preview that this show is apt to be quite different and engaging. Tunes will range from "Baby, it's Cold Outside" to renditions of PDQ Bach. Not to mention Gustav Holst's "Christmas Day" medley.

So enjoy!
