George Ryan, the former Illinois governor currently serving time in federal prison on corruption charges, could be calling the West Loop home soon.

According to multiple reports, Ryan could be eligible for work release in January 2013, which would mean that hed work during the day and bunk in a halfway house at night.

The most likely location, according to the reports, would be at a Salvation Army halfway house in the 100 block of South Ashland Avenue.

This is the half way house that Betty Loren Maltese was at. If you're walking by, take a look in the parking lot (Monroe and Laflin) as that's where residents get their exercise and converse as they take a cigarette break. I wonder what he'd say if you asked him what he thought of the fact that 4 of the last 9 IL Gov's have gone to jail?
